Nothing is more defining than a perfectly crafted manhattan, particularly for steak-driven cuisine. Here, we use a bonded rye whiskey for it’s elevated proof and peppery citrus & butterscotch qualities to contrast the sweet, raisinated qualities in some high-end Italian vermouths. A touch of cherry liqueur gives a vibrant boost to the fruit notes in the vermouth, and a small amount of time in oak provides elegance.
