Carol has been in the casino industry for 30 plus years. She loves the outdoors, watersports, and making memories with family and friends. Being involved with Player Development is something that Carol is particularly fond of because she enjoys being around people and making sure they are having a great experience.

Fun Fact: Carol competed in the Jr. Olympics as a swimmer.

With over 29 years of customer service experience, Julia Portillo brings dedication, warmth, and a genuine love for guest engagement to her role as Executive Casino Host. Her career in the gaming industry began in 1996 at Circus Circus Reno Hotel & Casino, where she spent 22 years building deep relationships and a strong foundation in guest services. She continued her journey at the Nugget Casino Resort from 2019 to 2025, before joining Legends Bay Casino in 2025 to further her commitment to exceptional hospitality.
Julia’s philosophy is simple but powerful: being a great Casino Host means becoming part of the lives and families of each guest you serve. She thrives on the joy of making guests feel welcome, listening to their stories, celebrating their wins, and ensuring every visit is memorable.
