About the Blackjack (21) Card Game

Blackjack is the most popular casino banking game worldwide, played with standard 52-card decks. It belongs to the “twenty-one” family of games and is known for its fast pace and simple rules.

In blackjack, you’re not competing against other players, only against the dealer. Both you and the dealer receive cards, but only one of the dealer’s cards is visible at the start. The objective is to get a hand total closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Go over 21 and you “bust,” losing your wager.

Cards are valued as follows: 10s, Jacks, Queens, and Kings are all worth 10 points. Aces can count as either 1 or 11, depending on what benefits your hand most. Number cards are counted at face value.

Once you receive your two initial cards, you can choose to:

  • Hit (ask for another card by tapping the table),
  • Stand (keep your total by waving your hand),
  • Or keep hitting until you’re satisfied or you bust.

Players never touch the cards; all communication is done through hand gestures.

If your hand beats the dealer’s without busting, you win and receive a payout equal to your bet. If you lose or tie, your bet is either taken or returned (in case of a “push”).

A Blackjack occurs when your first two cards total exactly 21: an Ace plus a 10, Jack, Queen, or King. Blackjack hands often pay at odds of 3 to 2 or 6 to 5, depending on the table.
