Legends Bay Casino Marked First Anniversary with an Epic Battle of the Bands Showdown

Sparks, NV (Aug. 30, 2023) – Legends Bay Casino, the first new casino built in Northern Nevada in over 20 years, celebrated its inaugural anniversary with a two-day Battle of The Bands musical showdown on Aug. 25-26, 2023. Featuring 12 local and regional bands of varying genres including Classic Rock, Country, and Top 40, hundreds of people were on hand to enjoy the free music each night and voted for their favorite band via a QR code from their mobile devices. 

On Saturday night, the competition crowned triumphant winners in each genre, awarding them each a coveted $1,000 top prize. Emerging victorious were Whiskey Low (Classic Rock), Nevada 445 (Country), and Red Flannel Flashback (Top 40). Notably, Whiskey Low also clinched the honor of the overall top vote recipient.

The festivities continued indoors after each night’s musical showdown, with an official After Party as live entertainment from bands New Wave Crave and Eminence took center stage atthe sportsbook bar. Guests relished the high-energy atmosphere, indulging in drink specials, and one guest won a spectacular guitar sponsored by Tito’s.

The final night of the competition welcomed distinguished guests, including Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo and Sparks Mayor Ed Lawson, who congratulated Garry Goett, Chairman and CEO of Olympia Companies, as well as the dedicated Legends Bay Casino team, on their remarkable milestone achievement.

In honor of the milestone occasion, Legends Bay Casino offered a commemorative First Anniversary LB Rewards player’s club card and concluded its $60,000 Birthday Briefcase promotion that took place every Friday and Saturday throughout the month.
